چکیده مقاله:
Background: Increases in the survival rate of men treated with chemotherapeutic drugs and their desire to have children precipitate concerns about the effects of these drugs on germ cells. This study performed to evaluation of protective effects of ethyl pyrovate in oxidative stress induced by cyclophosphamide (CP) on testis. Materials and Methods: Three groups (6 mice in each) of adult mice were used. Control group treated with normal saline via ip, and group 2 treated with CP 15 mg/ kg/week,ip and group 3 treated with CP along with ethyl pyrovate 40 mg/kg/day,ip. After 35 days samples were took and fixed in 10% formal saline and paraffin sections were prepared and stained by H&E method. Mean distribution of Laydig and Sertoli cells were counted in 1 mm2 field in 5 regions of each slides by latticed objective device. All obtained data were analyzed by SPSS software in ANOVA and Duncan test. Results: Results showed that the mean distribution of Leydig and Sertoli cells in group that treated with CP (9.27

متن کاملP-2: Protective Effects of Ethyl Pyruvate on Serum Antioxidant Capacity and Testis Germinalepithelium Morphometryin Cyclophosphamide Treated Mice
Background Cyclophosphamide (CP) is a chemotherapeuticdrug which causes deleterious effects on tissue of testicle and increases free radicals in the body. The aim of this study is to investigate protective effects of ethyl pyruvate (EP) on improvement of testicle inCP treated animals. MaterialsAndMethods In this study, 15 male mice(6-8 weeks) were divided into 3 groups. Control group receivedno...
متن کاملProtective effect of ethyl pyruvate on testicular histology and fertilization potential in cyclophosphamide treated mice
In the present study, we aimed to address the use of ethyl pyruvate (EP) against the harmful effects of cyclophosphamide (CP) treatment. Thirty-nine adult male mice were divided into three groups including control group received normal saline [0.20 mL per day; intraperitoneally (IP)], CP group received CP (15.00 mg kg-1 per week, IP) and CP+EP group received EP (40.00 mg kg-1</s...
متن کاملSertoli Cells Maintain Leydig Cell Number and Peritubular Myoid Cell Activity in the Adult Mouse Testis
The Sertoli cells are critical regulators of testis differentiation and development. In the adult, however, their known function is restricted largely to maintenance of spermatogenesis. To determine whether the Sertoli cells regulate other aspects of adult testis biology we have used a novel transgenic mouse model in which Amh-Cre induces expression of the receptor for Diphtheria toxin (iDTR) s...
متن کاملDHT Germ cells Genital crest Testis Leydig Sertoli
Sex differentiation is a process that starts early during embryogenesis. In males, the SRY gene, located in the short arm of chromosome Y, encodes for the testis-determining factor, which causes the gonad to differentiate into testis. Testicular androgen synthesis by Leydig cells starts from the eighth week of development. It is initially stimulated by placental chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), an...
